Just a Survey...

Hiiiiii :)
Glad some people are enjoying my translations.
So, I was wondering.
WHAT KIND OF THINGS DO YOU WANT ME TO TRANSLATE?
I personally like Yamada, so my translations are based on Hey! Say! JUMP & NYC, but if you send requests to me, I’ll do any translation really.
I’ve realised that I get the most likes from crosstalks and so I mainly translate crosstalks… but I thought it might be good to ask everyone what kind of translations you want to read!
Thankyoooouuuu!

Hey! Say! JUMP AorB interview

Hey! Say! JUMP Choice A or B?

Upon using the whole day, you will…?
A. Either have to sleep for more than 15 hrs
B. OR can only sleep for 5hrs

Takaki: B
Mostly cuz I know I can do with just 5hrs of sleep. When we have dramas, its normal for sleeping time to be less than 5hrs anyway. On the other hand, if it was 15hrs, then you’d have no time to hang around!
Arioka: B
If there was 10hrs of difference in those times then what you can do in a day would come out different. Time is precious, so I’d rather do something else than just sleeping. And if it’s B, I think I can have relaxed time before I go to work each morning.
Yaotome: B
B without doubt. 5hrs is definitely enough! When I have dramas, there’s a lot of times when we can sleep less than that, so when I saw the choices, I was like, ”We can sleep for 5hrs!?” But to be honest, I would rather it to be longer.
Nakajima: B
If I could, I would sleep for more, but if I had to choose, B. Right now I sleep for about 7-8hrs, so if it’s 5hrs, it’s gonna be a bit hard, but if I sleep for 15hrs, I feel like my body’s not gonna work properly. In the middle of those to is best anyway.
Yabu: B
I’m fine with 5hrs anyway. If I had no work the next day, I would prefer to sleep longer, though. Anyway 15hrs is impossible for me. I’ll be so sloppy the next day!
Yamada: B
I’m completely alright with 5hrs. I only sleep about that much everyday anyway, so no trouble. …I haven’t even slept for 15hrs in my life before! Is it even possible for human beings to sleep for 15hrs anyway? BTW my longest sleeping time is about 12hrs.
Inoo: B
I only sleep for about 5hrs anyway if I have uni.  In general I’m a person who wants to sleep so I’d like another 4 or 5 hrs, but 15hrs… too much. I wouldn’t be able to be active the next day!
Okamoto: A
I can sleep for more than 15hrs with ease. Actually, I sleep for that long about…once a week. On the contrary, I can do with sleeping for only 5hrs. I don’t think I’m too concerned with the length of my sleep.
Chinen: A
5hrs per day is impossible. I’d be so sleepy the next day I can’t work! But…15hrs seems way too much as well, so maybe 15hrs including sleeping on the van while moving studios and stuff? Like, you wake up and you’re at work.

If you were to experience fear, you would…
A. Either bungee jump from the Sky Tree
B. OR ride on the tea cup ride for 6hrs straight.

Yabu: A
6hrs is way too long. I’d rather jump off the sky tree and finish it in a moment’s length, and then afterwards just casually go to the amusement park and ride the tea cup there.
Yamada: B
I’m phobic to heights, so bungee jumping; no way. In the end I’d seriously get pissed and just shout “Don’t you f***ing mess with me.”
(trans note: just the nuance is the same, he didn’t actually say that;;) I’m not good with those spinning ride either, but they’re much better than really high ones.
Okamoto: A
You know those tea cups are actually pretty scary if you spin them around at full? They’re so fast you’d think you’d get flown off! So by elimination, I’d choose bungee jumping. In private life, I’ve jumped a 15m one once.
Yaotome: A
It’s a hard choice, but if you bungee jump from the sky tree, it’ll be a big thing, right? You can go, “I bungee jumped from there, you know.” To your friends, but if you say that for the tea cup thing, they’re not gonna be so impressed.
Arioka: A
6hrs on the teacup causes too much damage. Since I left highschool, I get more sick on vehicles and stuff, and now I even get sick on swings. I don’t like bungee jumping either, but I’d rather that.
Nakajima: A
It’s obviously gonna be really scary, but it’s gonna by over in a split second. I can also tell all my friends that I bungee jumped from the sky tree! 6hrs on the tea cup is too long that I’ll vomit. I don’t even wanna imagine that.
Chinen: A
I’m really bad with tea cup rides, and just riding normally makes me sick. Bungee jumping from that height is pretty scary, but I think I can enjoy that fear and height as well, so definitely A.
Takaki: A
I hate spinning. With bungee jumping, I think I’ll be like, “No way, noooo wayyyyy” but still do it. What was the height of the sky tree? 634m?? woah.
Inoo: B
I hate both of them… If I had to choose one, I’ll compare how much I hate both and choose B. Anyway with bungee jumping, it’s not like I can take it or can’t take it, it’s just that even if I get pushed and stuff, I can’t fall.

With food…
A. Either that you can eat all 3 daily meals, but can only eat the same thing every meal
B. OR that you can eat different things everyday, but you can only eat ONCE a day

Yaotome: A
I don’t find either of them too hard… Once I’m really into something, I can definitely eat the same thing every meal everyday. The other time when I really got into udon and soba and stuff, I ate them just about everyday every meal for about a week. When it comes to that, it’s pretty sad for it to be just one meal a day.
Arioka: B
I’d hate to eat the same thing everyday. I’d get bored with life really easily! If that’s so, well, I’d just go with one meal per day. If it was like, the same menu but every few days, I’m completely fine with that. Or maybe like, one meal a day that’s the same everyday or something. I do recall a time when I had bbq for 5 days in a row before, though.
Okamoto: B
3 meals being the exact same is too harsh. Then just one meal a day with each meal different is way better. If you get hungry, then just sleep! If I HAD to choose A, then maybe curry rice or tonkatsu.
Nakajima: A
Even if it’s the same, it’s better than not being able to eat. It’s not like I eat 3 meals a day usually, but one meal is just too small. FYI if I could choose that one menu I’d choose udon. There’d be heaps of vegetables and it’ll be healthy enough to keep me up!
Yamada: B
Only eating one meal a day would make me hungry, but it’s not impossible to bare. When I tried not to eat after 6pm, it turned out to be not so hard. I think my stomach’s kinda used to being empty.
Inoo: B
Duh B. I think I can bare with one meal a day, but the same meal everyday is definitely too harsh. Even if it’s your favourite meal everyday, if it comes out at every meal, I probably would stop eating.
Yabu: B
I think eating the same meal everyday is way too harsh. You’d get really bored of food. Anyway if you can eat something different everyday, even if it’s just once a day, I think you can bare with that.
Takaki: B
The same menu everyday is just impossible. Only one meal a day sounds a bit harsh, but there are people having that sort of diet everyday around the world, so I’m guessing it’ll be fine to survive. I think it’ll be alright if you eat at night or something.
Chinen: B
I’m not particularly concerned with any of them though. I’m completely fine with one menu, and I was eating the same thing everyday at the cafeteria when I was in high school anyway. Since I graduated, I usually have a brunch, so 2 meals a day.

4. If your dream ever came true, you will…
A. Either choose to earn 10million yen
B. OR get doraemon’s 4th dimension pocket

Arioka: B
What should I get if I get a 4th dimension pocket? Wait, so it’s just the pocket and not doraemon, right? Then I’d just get doraemon. If I’m gonna get a friend like doraemon, I don’t feel much need for a pocket!
Chinen: B
If you wanted to make your dream come true, then there’s nothing better to get than a 4th dimension pocket. You can do absolutely anything! Well, if I had it, I’d take out the “Moshimo BOX”(What if box) and experience “What if I was a member of Arashi”. It’s a dream that you can’t buy with money.
Takaki: B
TBH I don’t feel the want for either. If I had 10million yen, life would be so boring without anything to achieve. Ah, but it’ll be good if I had a “dokodemo door” (wherever door) for work so B!
Nakajima: B
I wanna use the Dokodemo Door when I’m about to be late to something. If I got 10 million yen instantly, I think I’ll go crazy, literally, so once I get the 4th Dimension pocket, I might get that out of that too.
Inoo: B
There’s much more to it to get a 4th dimension pocket than just plainly 10million yen. I don’t have anything in particular that I wanna do with the secret tools and stuff, but once I get it, I think I’ll just wear it around.
Yamada: B
There’d be a machine to make money in the 4th dimension pocket anyway. So let’s just make 10million yen with that. Well, I don’t really think I need that much money anyway. Oh, and I really want a Dokodemo Door too!
Yaotome: B
Deffs 4th Dimension pocket. I want a Dokodemo Door. Cuz like, let’s say you’re cooking and you find out you don’t have something. You’ll just need to get out the Dokodemo Door and instantly go shopping. The best item ever!
Okamoto: A
Well, I’d use it first to buy an island. Then the rest to the bank. Maybe I’d donate as much as I can. The reason I didn’t choose the 4th Dimension pocket is cuz if I get that, I feel like the world’s gonna go crazy. I’m scared I’m gonna misuse it.
Yabu: B
There’s this thing called a “Tazunebito Stick” and if you ask it how you go to the place you need to go, it shows you the way. You won’t get lost overseas, so I really want that!

5. If you were given a gift…

A. Either you were given the gift of languages where you can speak absolutely ANY language
B. OR the gift of sport where you can beat the world record in ANY sport.

Okamoto: B
You can learn to speak new languages, but when it comes to sports, how much is in your genes count a lot. I’m not particularly interested in beating world records, but I want a body that doesn’t tire out very easily.
Chinen: A
I already have quite a bit of gift in sport, so I prefer languages. Anyway, no matter how much sport you can do, I’m only one person, so what I can do with my effort is just one sport. Then I’d rather languages.
Yamada: A
Languages are really important in this job, and it becomes a really big weapon. First I’ll learn English then Korean, and then maybe Thai…? Just cuz it’s so different to Japanese, it’ll be fun to learn!
Takaki: A
When I go overseas, there’s quite a lot of cases when I’m not brave enough to talk to the people there cuz I don’t speak their language.
Nakajima: A
I’m not particularly wanting a sporty gift so much to make world records. Anyway what I need now is B. First I’ll perfect my English, and then maybe learn Asian languages one by one.
Inoo: A
Even if you have the ability to make world records, you would be beating your own records, right? It’s lonely only battling with one self. It’s way better to have A where you can make heaps of friends.
Yaotome: A
If you have skills in languages, there’s more things you can do, and life would be happier. You can translate for your friends so you’d go overseas often, and it’ll be cool to be able to understand what the lyrics mean in songs from overseas.
Yabu: A
If you can speak any language then there’s no fear in going anywhere around the world. There’s quite a lot of times when I wish I could speak more of their language when I go overseas, so I definitely want this gift. It’ll be cool if I could speak Spanish!
Arioka: A
Having a great gift at sport might be really good at first, but then when you know how well you’re gonna do, I feel like I’m gonna go mad. On the other hand if I have linguistic skills, I’d be going all over the world and have deeper connections.

6. If you were to start a new home life, you would…
A. Either live in a large house with really good furnishing and without any rent, but where ghosts come out
B. OR live in a very small and dusty house but with a kind neighbor.

Yabu: B
I hate ghosts and stuff, so I’d rather dusty. It sounds fun to mingle with the neighbor and be like, “I kinda made too much of nimono, so do you want some?” Anyway a room that’s too large you can’t really relax in.
Chinen: A
I wanna meet ghosts! I believe they exist, but I’ve never met one or seen one before. I couldn’t see any even when I went to ghost towns and areas and stuff with my friends. Well, I don’t think I wanna go as far as living with them, but I do wanna see one.
Yamada: A
I’m used to ghosts. They’re always around in our house. I’m like, “Oh, they’re looking at us again.” And nothing else. So if I can live there for free and it’s a large house, I have no problems with it.
Arioka: A
If I already know that they’re there, I think I can happily live with it. I actually experienced something really freaky at home recently, but no one believed me… if I live in old houses, there’d be bugs and stuff so I don’t really prefer that.
Okamoto: B
In general I like small spaces better. You can relax more, and if it’s old and dusty, how about you just reform it? Even if it’s a nice and large house, with ghosts, no way! I really can’t stand those types of things.
Yaotome: A
Nmmm….Well, I’m scared of ghosts, but I’m rather much more scared of my kind neighbours who may or may not visit me often. I’m shy, you know. If you say they don’t harm you, well humans are scarier than ghosts.
Takaki: A
If it’s a nice house and it’s free, no way I’d say no! With ghosts… well, it depends on their level of scariness. I’ll just get ceremonial people to get rid of them, and I think it should be fine. But B… it sounds fun with a friendly neighbor. Like, maybe do home parties with them.
Nakajima: B
I mean, I don’t like ghosts, but I chose B more for the reason that I like neighborly connections. Even if it’s a dusty old house and you have problems, you could get your friendly neighbours to help!
Inoo: A
I don’t know how “old and dusty” it is so I’m not sure, but the “very” part makes me choose A. Anyway, I don’t think I’ll notice the ghosts. I haven’t had any scary experiences in life before, and I’m not afraid of horror rides and stuff either.

6. Your on the toilet and you notice there’s no more toilet paper. You will…
A. Either use the photo you took with your crush
B. OR use sand paper

Chinen:A
I mean, I would think about it for a bit, but in the end I think I’ll use the photo. Anyway, there would be another chance to take a photo with your crush, and it’s not really worth it to hurt yourself.
Okamoto:A
This one’s A without doubt. I mean, you could just take a photo with your phone and then use it, right? But I think I’ll rather use my underwear then, and then buy a new pair nearby.
Nakajima:A
…Is the sand paper both sided? Well, then I think I’ll be like, “Gomen!” and then use the photo. I make sure I take backups and stuff for photos anyway.
Inoo: B
To be honest, if I don’t have to choose, I wouldn’t use any. But the reason I chose the sand paper is cuz if you hurt your butt, it would heal but the photo wouldn’t.
Arioka:B
Photos are part of your memories, right? Then even if it’s not with your crush, I wouldn’t flush it down the toilet. You can’t get another one, and its precious. So I’d just gently use sand paper.
Yamada:B
In “Risou no Musuko” I had to step on someone’s face on a photo, and I seriously thought I did a bad thing as a person, stepping on it, so I won’t use the photo. Anyway even if you get injured with the sand paper it’ll heal.
Takaki: A
If I had to choose, then A. You can take a photo with them after you’re going out with them, right? Afterwards you can be like, “You know a long time ago…” and make it a joke. It’s better than using sand paper.
Yabu: A
There should be data left on your SD card. You can re-print it, right? Or just take another photo. Sandpaper? Impossible.
Yaotome: A
…hard to choose. If I had to choose, then the photo. I can be like, “I’m so going to go out with them!!”and use it.

7. What hurts you the most with why your girlfriend’s dumping you is…
A. Either that she has a crush on someone else now
B. OR that she didn’t really like you that much in the first place.

Chinen: B
Cuz if you didn’t like me in the first place, you’d be like, “Why the hell did you go out with me!?” It’s like, denying EVERYTHING. If she says that to me, even if I get hurt, I think I’ll fight back saying, “Ha! That’s the same with me!”
Arioka: B
I’d fall to the ground there, cuz… all the memories you shared with them were false, right? If she tells me she likes someone else now, there’s some sort of thing that can make you give up on her.
Nakajima: B
I can still understand A. We’re humans, and our feelings can change. But with B I think I’ll be stressed forever. I’d be so hurt.
Yamada: A
I’d get really anxious about the process of crushing on someone else. Like, “How the hell did that happen and since when!?!?!?” I won’t let anyone who goes out with me say that, though. They’re not gonna fall for other guys!
Okamoto: A
I would get really hurt with B too. But with A, the sad part is that when she was supposed to like you, they liked someone else, so it’s worse. I think I’d get really depressed cuz I feel like I wasn’t enough.
Inoo: A
If they say B, I’d be like, “Oh, well, that’s alright.” And just go away, questioning the girl’s personality and stuff. I mean, what kind of “nice girl” says that to dump their boyfriend, whether it was true or not? With A, I dunno how to forget her.
Takaki: B
If she had someone else she liked, well that’s partially my fall for I might not have been enough. But with B, it’s not any of my fault obviously, so I’ll get pissed.
Yabu: B
If she crushed on someone else, I can just give up. But if she didn’t like me in the first place… I’d really question every single memory, and get really depressed.
Yaotome: A
I’d get depressed for both, but I choose A. A means that they liked you until some point but from then they liked someone else, right? I get anxious for the reason, so I find A worse.

If you were to have a difficult love life you will have…
A. Either that you live far away and you can’t see them, but you can call them and text them everyday
B. OR you’re close to them in physical distance, but you can’t text them or call them, and you can only see them once a month.

Takaki: B
I can’t stand not being able to see them. I start to think, “They can do well without me, can’t they…” and I think I’ll start to get less lovey for them. Then I’d rather not seeing them that much, but still be able to see them.
Inoo: B
The point being whether you can see them, or not. When what you’re doing is just calling them, it feels like just virtual love. I’m not a texting or calling person anyway.
Yamada: B
Not being able to see them is too much. I wanna see my girlfriend at least once a week, or more often than that. It’s nice talking over the phone, but I’d rather much talk to them face-to-face.
Okamoto: B
It depends on how much you talk, but I think my ears will hurt a lot if you call each other that often. I doubt there’s so much to talk about anyway. And I’m pretty slack, so I think once a month is enough…!?
Chinen: B
This is hard-. But just over the phone is too lonely. I’d only reply to mails anyway. So even if it’s just once a month, I’ll rather seeing them. The best would be that you could see them when you want to, though.
Yabu: B
I’m the type where even if I can’t see them that often, I’m fine. I think I’ll be alright with once a month. But when there’s something important, I wanna go see them asap, so I don’t think I’m too fitted to long distance love….
Yaotome: B
I don’t like either of them. They’re both like long distance anyway. So at the least I’d rather seeing them. Anyway if you look on the positive side, you’d have a lot to talk about when you see them!
Arioka: B
What the hell! They’re both hard! But I wanna see them, so B. Even if it’s everyday, just over the phone is a bit lonely. All it’s gonna do is make you want to see them more. My ideal relationship will be where you can see each other everyday or two.
Nakajima: B
Even if it’s just once a month, it’s better if I see them. If it’s too much of a long distance, I think I’ll start to question if I really like that person who I’m calling everyday. The stuff you talk about might become really repetitive and boring, so seeing them is important, I think.

NYC July 2012 Crosstalk Interview Translation

Summer Festivals and Barbecue. The Summer this year is exciting for the Three of Them!
Chinen:
It’s been a while since the last time I’ve worn a yukata.
Nakayama: Yeah. I feel like it’s summer.
Yamada: I should never wear yukatas…
Nakayama: Yamada-kun, you don’t say.
Yamada: I look like a GIRL wearing this!!!
Chinen: Opps. Well, he said it.
Yamada: Well today, I have nothing else to say. I’ll hand it over to you, Yuma.
Nakayama: Wha, what should I talk about…?
Chinen: About “Haina!”~
Yamada: All to you, advertisement captain.
Nakayama: Well, I really think this is the best summer song this year with a very catchy melody.
Chinen: Haina! Haina! (=yep, yep!)
Nakayama: The choreography is like festival dancing, and the lyrics are really fun.
Yamada: Cool cool. Today’s Yuma is talking really well.
Chinen: Haina~ (=yep really well~)
Nakayama: Please watch the PV that we took with the fans!
Chinen: Haina! (=Exactly!)
Yamada: Chinen, how about you talk properly now.
Chinen: Haina. You know, the day we were shooting the PV? It was raining and made it all hard cuz it was supposed to be sunny.
Yamada: When I woke up it was raining heaps so I thought it was gonna be postponed, but it was on regardless of weather and I had to run out of the house. (笑)
Nakayama: The set that was supposed to be used had to be re-setted… I feel sorry for the staff.
Chinen: But because of that, the distance between us and the fans became closer.
Yamada: Yep, all thanks to the rain. We managed to take the goldfish catching and shooting scene successfully as well.
Chinen: I love shooting!
Nakayama: Chinen-kun was really good at shooting. And it was so much fun cuz it felt like we actually went to a festival the three of us.
Yamada: If NYC went to the summer festival together, it’s gonna be loud~
Nakayama: Then, which shop will we go to first?
Chinen: Well, first, shoot Yuma with the shooting guns.
Yamada: Oh, like, “Hey~ Stop it~<3”?
Nakayama: With Chinen-kun targeting me, I can’t react that cutely!
Chinen: At the goldfish catching, Yuma will explain every single goldfish that’s swimming there.
Nakayama: Ahaha that’s so gonna happen! Like, “this goldfish over here, you see is~~”
Chinen: And, when he sees the squid being cooked, he’ll cry.
Nakayama: Yeah, like,”Hey~ Squid~Why are you here in such state, being killed and cooked”… who the hell are you talking about! (笑)
Chinen: Waaa, you went along☆
Yamada: I want apricot candy~ even if its just prunes when they say apricots~
Nakayama: Wait, don’t you mean apple?
Chinen: Here it comes, the summer festival kansai vs kanto!
Yamada: I’m not gonna vs him, ok? I like tako yaki too.
Nakayama: Takoyaki! The other day, I bought a takoyaki machine! Come over to my house! Let’s hold a takoyaki party!
Yamada: Eh~ I don’t wanna go over to Yuma’s house~
Nakayama: You’re such a tsundere. Perfectly illustrated!
Yamada: I’ll go if you let us hold pie-throwing.
Nakayama: You said watermelon cracking the other day…?
Yamada: Well events are important for parties!
Chinen: Let him do it for celebration~!
Nakayama: No way! Anyway what the heck of a celebration is that!
Chinen: Of course it’s Yuma’s party for moving to Tokyo!
Yuma: Eh…
Yamada: If you don’t even get that, I guess you sold your heart to Tokyo…
Nakayama: Do you realize that that isn’t convincing at all when you yourself lives in Tokyo?
Yamada: Dang. Well we’ll celebrate for you in a casual way. What do you want to eat?
Nakayama: Fugu! You know, the place you mentioned before!
Chinen: Eh-! Then Yuma, you fish the fugu!
Yamada: Exactly. You fish it, Chinen cuts it and takes care of it, while I plate it.
Nakayama: …No matter how much Chinen-kun is good at doing that sorta stuff, you need a license to cook fugu!
Chinen: Eh-? I feel like I can do it-!
Nakayama: Even if you feel like it, there are things you can, and you can’t do, chinen-kun. Then let’s just quit fugu. Just go with normal fishing. At a beach or something.
Yamada: That sounds cool. Then barbecue.
Chinen: I wanna do that-! Let’s go to Hawaii!
Nakayama: Why do we have to go that far… it’s ok at my home, isn’t it?
Yamada: No-way-!
Nakayama: Why do you refuse to go that much?
Yamada: Cuz if we go, we can’t use this “let’s go, let’s not go” talk anymore~
Nakayama: You do know that NYC isn’t a group of comedians, don’t you?
Chinen: We’re going for the comedy championships!!

Hey! Say! JUMP TV Life interview translation

From Talk about Vampires to Talk about Tours!
Chinen:
This album is literally about JUMP’s WORLD. With just this one CD, you’ll get into JUMP’s atmosphere and understand our world! I know it’s hard to choose, but what are your fave songs, guys?
Yamada: This IS hard, but… maybe “Boku wa vampire”?
Takaki: Yeah, it was the song with the best reaction when we sang it live.
Arioka: Like, you’re saying vampire yourself! Creative~!
Yamada: I know~! And you know now, Johnny Depp is doing a movie called “Dark Shadow” and Keito & I were watching the ad, and he was like, “I’m a vampire” so we were both like, “You too!?” to the TV.
Arioka: There’s tonnes of other good songs too. Like “Snap” which Yabu wrote the lyrics to, and “Hero” which Keito wrote the lyrics to. There’s personality in both those songs.
Chinen: Dai-chan, you did the editing for “Hurry Up!” Right?
Arioka: That was so much fun! I came up with so much ideas and edited it as much as time allowed, and couldn’t stop. I put in sounds of the koto as well and mixed Japanese culture with that pop tone, so I’d like people to listen to bits and pieces like that too.
Takaki: Yamada did “Hana Egao” right?
Yamada: Yes-! I wrote the lyrics-! I wanted to write heaps about our relationship with fans, and that’s what I ended up with. My feeling of gratitude.
Takaki: I wanted to write lyrics too. I had it in shape in my mind, but I didn’t have time…
Chinen: Same here~ I used too much power writing lyrics 2 years ago, so when I finish charging, maybe next time~
In the shooting, we got you to follow the theme of “vampires” . So, if any of the members were to drink your blood, who would you want it to be?
Chinen:
I don’t want Ryosuke to.
Yamada: Why not!?
Chinen: Cuz I feel like you’re gonna suck all the blood out of me.
Takaki: Yeah, you eat a lot. I feel like you’re not gonna leave any blood in me.
Yamada: That’s true.
Chinen: well it’s a problem if you suck the life out of someone. For me, maybe someone who looks like they don’t have the power to suck… maybe Dai-chan!
Arioka: Me!? Me… I don’t really mind who as long as they don’t do it from my neck.
Yamada: So it’s a problem about your body parts.
Takaki: I think… Yuto. I wanna drum like him!
Arioka: Wait, just cuz Yuto sucks your blood doesn’t mean you’ll get better at drumming, you know? (笑)
Takaki: Oh, really?
Chinen: You’re getting the definition of vampires wrong.
Yamada: (笑) I think Yuya. Cuz yesterday, we were having this really lovey-dovey mailing conversation.
Arioka: What the!?
Yamada: Yesterday (the interview was the day after Yamada’s birthday) everyone celebrated my birthday at the concert, and I mailed you guys, right? And I sent Yuya, “Thank you so much! I love JUMP… except for Yuya.(笑)” and Yuya was like, “Tell me the truth~ you love me, right?” so I sent him back, “I love youuuuu!”
Takaki: And in the end it ended with “WTF is with this conversation!?” (笑)
Yamada: You guys celebrated my birthday like that at a concert and I was about to cry, but I stopped myself cuz I still had to sing. It was too nice. It was the best birthday surprise in 19 years!
Arioka: Well it’s great you liked it. And speaking of surprises, our national tour was also announced.
Takaki: It’s our first in Summer so I’m so excited! Do you think the base is going to be the album?
Yamada: Nothing’s decided yet.
Chinen: Well, cuz we’re going to other areas, let’s have a barbecue!
Arioka: Yeah~ Sounds like summer!

Hey! Say! 7 crosstalk July 2012

Hey, did you notice that Ryosuke & I are looking at you at that scene?(笑)
Okamoto:
You know the concert this time, there was a time when Hikaru-kun and Chinen-kun were just wearing tank tops while everyone else were wearing different costumes?
Nakajima: IKR! I was so surprised I had to look twice!(笑)
Yamada: Same here! I was about to crack up!
Chinen: That was so embarrassing~ I think the staff chose us something different cuz they couldn’t find us the right one, but the taste was so different(笑). Come to think of it now, maybe it wasn’t too bad for Hikaru-kun and I to be that costume cuz it was funny. (笑)
Yamada: Don’t worry, it was funny enough with just tank tops. (笑)
Nakajima: Speaking of happenings, in the BEST crosstalk, they were talking about the timing thing with the costumes.
Yamada: Right! It’s from “Boku wa Vampire!”!! We were late, so we couldn’t make it to the sound to take of the costumes, and we all took it off at separate times, so the sound came on different times, and…(笑)
Chinen: ?Yeah, but we don’t do those happenings that much, do we?
Nakajima: In my case, there were times when I was waving to my fans when I realized everyone was already back at the main stage, and I had to dash. (笑)
Chinen: Hey, did you notice that Ryosuke & I are looking at you at that scene? (笑)
Yamada: Yeah, watching Yutie with this elegant smile and elegant prince waving while just going “Now come. Just come. You do know we’re singing another song now, don’t you?” (笑)
Nakajima: Sorry~ I’m really sorry;;
Yamada: Well it’s better than missing the timing like BEST did. (笑)Seriously, BEST~~ Oh, wait, readers, this isn’t talking behind their back, OK? I can say this even if BEST are right there. (笑)
Chinen: There’s an image in the world that BEST are oniichan than 7, but in reality, it’s different, right?
Nakajima: True! …Except me myself is low in maturity age(笑)But in terms of childishness and stuff, I think BEST it higher. In 7 our age might be lower, but we’re a bit calmer I guess.
Okamoto: IKR. Cuz we used helium gas in the shooting and BEST are playing around with it too much. They’re like, making their voice go funny and stuff and cracking up. (笑)
Chinen: Yuya was even calling his friend with that voice and playing around. (笑)
Everyone: Such a child~
Yamada: Yabu looks like he’s really mature, but in Beat Line, his costume and stuff were coming off, or only half coming off, or his shoulders showing and stuff. Well, I guess that’s what’s cute about him. (笑)With Dai-chan there was even a time when the costume from the last song hadn’t even come off. (笑)
Nakajima: Like, when everyone was wearing white suits, one person on the stage with black pants…(笑)
Yamada: Or like when Dai-chan stood up by himself before everyone. (笑)
Nakajima: Wait, I didn’t know that! That’s hilarious!
Okamoto: But I guess that’s because he’s had enough experience to let that happen.
Yamada: The only one without experience is you Keito.
Okamoto: Why do you say those things! (笑)…well, I guess that’s true though. (笑)Like, in this concert, there was the thing where BEST and 7 interchanged and stuff, right? When 7 were jumping into BEST, I sprained my ankle. I was like, “Oh, shit… I can’t walk! But I have to go on stage!” and then I banged my knee. Then when we had to go on the carts, I hit my head (笑)
Nakajima: WTF! That’s like manga! (笑)
Chinen: Keito, you forgot one! While all that stuff happened, you stepped on my shoe and my shoe came off. AND I was about to miss the timing! You even involved other people. (笑)
Okamoto: That was really hard every time!
Nakajima: Was it that hard? Ah, but I hit my shin once. And I still have a bruise on it. Anyway this time there was so much into the concert, so there were a lot of that stuff.
Chinen: Yeah. This time there weren’t ANY times where we could talk! Like, usually there’s at least one time when we could talk in Jr. corners, but there were none this time.
Yamada: I know. This time it was even busy back stage. By the way, I realized, Chinen doesn’t have any mistakes that we can really talk about.
Chinen: But I still make mistakes you know. I don’t try to hide them either.
Yamada: True, but they’re not very big mistakes. It’s like, get one move wrong, cheekily smile, then it over…(笑)
Okamoto: Exactly. It’s not like me- spraining my ankle, banging my knee, bashing my head, and even managing to get Chinen’s shoe off in one scene. (笑)
Yamada: Well no one does that except for you Keito. (笑)Anyway you get the choreography wrong most of the time.
Okamoto: I’m not that bad, am I?
Yamada: Well I guess you’re such a hard worker…you’ve gotten so much better!
Okamoto: Don’t praise me so suddenly…half my face is smiling!
Chinen: So Keito smiles like that when he’s happy. (笑)I mean really, Keito’s so much like a horse now.
Okamoto: Wait a minute, no one said I wanted to become a horse!!

I’m sorry but I…(with so much “I am so cool” aura) will be cool.
Nakajima:
Speaking of choreography, everyone in JUMP has originality in their dance.
Okamoto: The person closes to the choreographer is…
Chinen: Eh, that’s me!!!
Everyone: Ah, yeah.
Yamada: Yeah, you have the least bad habits to dancing.
Nakajima: So, in concerts and stuff, if you think, “What’s the original of this dance?” you just look at Chinen.
Yamada: On the other hand, the person you should never look at is Yabu-chan. (笑)Yabu-chan’s dance is seriously full of original arrangements. (笑)
Okamoto: You didn’t say me!
Yamada: Yeah, cuz in your case, the original form is different. (笑)In Yabu-chan’s case, it’s the change after remembering the original.
Chinen: I really wonder how the original changes so much. If I were him, I wouldn’t be bothered to change it so much anyway.
Yamada: I think Chinen should arrange it, on the other hand.
Chinen: Really? I’m just thinking I should do it like the choreographer.
Okamoto: You know, Chinen doesn’t try to be really cool on stage. Like winking when the camera comes.
Yamada: Hey, can you just wink now?
Chinen: Like this?
Everyone: So you can wink!
Nakajima: Chinen tries to go funny ways at those times.
Okamoto: Like “Boku wa Vampire”. I was about to laugh at Chinen’s part!
Yamada: I know! Like, in the “Vampire…” part, everyone’s doing it with a whisper so it sounds sexy, but with Chinen, you’re like, “VAMPIREEEEEEEE” with your normal cute voice. (笑)
Chinen: Then, I’d just do it sexy just once!
Nakajima: Oh, cool! Then the people who went to that one would see the rare Chinen. (笑)
Yamada: I’m sorry but I…(with so much “I am so cool” aura) will be cool.
Nakajima: OMG you’re so hot-! (笑)Yeah, I have moments where I’m trying to be hot on stage too. I don’t really succeed, though. (笑)Anyway, I think it’s normal to “be cool on stage” if you’re job is like ours.
Yamada: Yeah, I guess. If you take a look at our senpais, their coolness is all different.
Nakajima: True. There’s people like Higashiyama-san or Tsubasa-kun who always have their coolness around, and other people who are usually relaxed, but momentarily bring out their coolness. In my case, I’m still in search. (笑)
Chinen: I want an aura like Ohno-kun. Ohno-kun doesn’t have this “I am so cool look at me” aura, but he’s still kakkoii, right?
Nakajima: Yeah! How about you, Yama-chan?
Yamada: Me? Bekham.
Everyone: Bekham!?
Yamada: Or like Decaprio or Tom Cruise… and Johnny Depp.
Okamoto: They’re all classics, man. (笑)
Yamada: And Tim Burton!
Everyone: That’s a director! (笑)
Nakajima: (whispers) George Clooney!
Yamada: George Clooney seems nice too!
Nakajima: (whispers) Antonio Banderas!
Yamada: I like Antonio Banderas as well.
Chinen: (whispers) Spilberg! Spilberg!
Yamada: Spilberg I can’t leave without, you know.
Okamoto: I don’t get where Yama-chan’s heading to. (笑)You’re just naming the foreign people you know, aren’t you?
Yamada: Dang, busted. (笑)Anyway, I just mean that I wanna become a person acknowledged by the world! Like, you know how we’re going to Hong Kong? I’m so excited-!!!
Chinen: The sound of “performing overseas” is already fun! (笑)
Nakajima: I can’t wait for the stage either, but I’m also looking forward to seeing a different city!
Yamada: They say the food is nice their too. Do you think we can go shopping?
Chinen: What can you buy in Hong Kong?
Yamada: They said that it’s really like shopping, shopping, shopping, so practically anything. And according to the staff, they said jewelry.
Nakajima: So, Keito, how about jewelry for souvenir?
Okamoto: Wait, why are you only asking me? (笑)I’m not really interested in jewelry. I like powerstones and stuff better.
Yamada: Let’s go if we have time! Anyway, I’m really excited, cuz I want JUMP to be known to everyone in Asia, and maybe even debut overseas someday!

NYC Interview July 2012 Translation

NYC July 2012 Interview

1.What is your most recent dream?

Yamada: In my case I always have deep sleeps so I don’t usually have dreams. Sometimes I dream of my teeth breaking. Always with those French bread. (笑)Does it mean I have to be careful of hard things!? And the scariest dream I ever had was that I was hanging out with my friends when zombies started to come out of the ground and started chasing us…. Hey, wait, this started to seem stupid when I actually said it…(笑)Anyway, it was really scary when I actually had that dream.
Nakayama: I saw this really freaky dream the other day. I was hanging out with Hashimoto-kun and Kawai-kun when my friends from Osaka come to my house. Like, about 20 of them. And there were like, highschoolers and little girls that I didn’t even know and I was like, “What & Who the hell-!?”(笑)And then the little girl’s mum even came and I got into trouble. Then I got really angry at my friend and I woke up. I thought it was telling me something so I called my friend but there was really nothing.

Chinen: I don’t usually dream, and even if I do I don’t remember them. But I do have one I can talk about. Like, I dunno why, but Johnny-san was making an obento for me, and was like, “You, eat this yo.” (笑)I remember there was an egg roll in it… and I can’t remember anything else. I just remember it tasted nice. Maybe this becomes real… nah, no way. (笑)

2. What’s something that makes you sleep well?

Yamada: I can sleep well by spraying some perfume on my pillow. And I have a hugging pillow that I really like, so when I hug that, I can sleep really well. And… I mean “if”, but if my crush calls me before I sleep and was like, “I love you.” I’d be like, “a~~i!” and just sleep straight away in happiness<3 I don’t say that stuff though. Oh, but maybe if they ask, I might just be silly and say that…?

Nakayama: This isn’t really DEFINITE, but right now I’m using the pillow I brought from my home in Osaka. And I only use one piece of futon all throughout the year. It’s warm enough to use just as one in winter, so in Summer I don’t put it over me but I kind of just hug it to sleep. (笑)And this isn’t anything to do with goods or whatever, but I can’t sleep without the room being absolutely dark. Even if it’s just a small light, I can’t sleep with it on cuz it just bugs me. I was a kid who could sleep ANYWHERE when I was little… I even bring eyemasks when I have to go to hotels in other areas.
Chinen: This isn’t someTHING, but when I sleep, I usually sleep with just my underpants. It isn’t really cold in winter either; its just something I CAN’T go by without. So the material becomes important too. I don’t really like futon that are a bit spiky, so I don’t go as far as silk, but still, I like comfy ones. FYI my bed now is all brown. It’s not like paper futon, but just a normal soft, comfy one.

3. What makes your heart relax the most?
Yamada:
I’m not trying to be romantic, but the sounds of nature itself makes me relaxed. I like the sound of the waves crashing, and I also like the sound that bugs make at night when I’m watching the stars. And the sound of rain. And, the smell of the air after rain is also really nice. You know, the power of nature is actually really great. I feel good after I’ve done something at work, but that’s more of like, “Yes!!!” than relaxation.
Nakayama: I think that’s when I’m hanging out with my friends. Like, even if I’m really busy with work, I want to hang out with friends than just rest at home. And the best situation would be like, “when there is everyone, I have my own time” kinda thing. Like, my friends are in the lounge room, but I’m in the room next to that by myself… Even when I’m about to go to sleep, I like it when I can hear people in the room next to me talking and stuff. Wait… I really feel lonely, don’t I? (笑)
Chinen: I feel relaxed when I’m at home on a rainy day. If it’s a day off, I just go, “Let’s just stay at home today” , and my favourite part is the cold air on rainy days. Love the sound that rain makes on the windows! At work, I love the feeling of drinking heaps of water at once in concerts. Even if I drink it, I have to go up again, but I’m still wanting water so when that’s fulfilled I feel really good. No, I don’t feel like I have to go to the toilet cuz I use it all up on sweat. (笑)

4. What kind of song is your new single, “Haina!”?
Yamada:
“Haina!” Seems like a really good song to play at summer festivals. When we performed it at JUMP’s concert the other day, it was great to see all these people already remembering the choreography and dancing to it. I wanna bring up NYC like this, and like we’ve being saying for ages, I wanna gradually get up to doing an NYC concert. So we can make that come true, we’re trying hard on what we have to do now, so please wait<3
Nakayama: We performed “Haina!” at the Yokohama Arena, and it was really great to see more and more people remembering the choreography. You can see on the PV as well, but this is a song where it’s fun to dance with everyone, so I’m hoping for it to grow into a song that more people know. I like the coupling song cuz it’s a cool kind of song. NYC’s been growing little by little into what kind of songs we can do, so if we ever do a concert, it’ll be fun to play around with showcasing.
Chinen: “Haina!” is a fun song fitted perfectly to summer. The dance similar to festival dances is fun, and I want it to be played in summer festivals all over the country. Oh, and speaking of which, “dance” became a part of compulsory subjects at junior high, right? It’ll be so cool if it could be used as one of the songs for class. When we performed it at JUMP’s concert, we changed how we appeared each time. Like, made it like a koinobori magic, or like illusion magic. The dance was so much fun when the whole arena became one.

Myojo July NYC crosstalk

Chinen’s skills in NYC’s PV shooting!

Yamada: Welcome to this week’s NYC——-!!!!!

Chinen: Waaaa! *clap*clap*clap*

Yuma: So what TV show is this? (笑)

Yamada: So, we’re talking “Haina!”. We all like this song, right?
Chinen: Yeah, it’s the sort of song that no other group sings. It’s NYC taste.

Yamada: NYC’s songs are usually fun and cheerful, and they’re made so any age can listen to it. Previous songs were like that too, but I find that this time they emphasized on it even more.

Yuma: Yep, like a song where EVERYONE can dance.

Yamada: And this time the choreography for us three and the fans are different!
Chinen: Our one is a bit more difficult, so level up and make sure you can dance both!
Yamada: You know, I find that Yuma over uses “Don’t Don’t Mind Mind” from the lyrics in normal conversations.

Yuma: Yea. Cuz I feel like even if I do something wrong, if I just say that I won’t get into trouble.(笑)Anyway, it was a line that I straight away thought, “I could use this!” when I first read the lyrics.

Chinen: “Haina!” itself is a fun and happy song, but the coupling in the CD is a cool song. You can enjoy both!
Yuma: Yeah! Those cool kind of songs we’ve never done!
Yamada: It’s called “Ame-oto”.
Yuma: Except you read it “Ama-oto”. (笑)
Yamada: Oh(笑)? Anyways, it’s a love song. It’s like Kinki Kids-san! Oh, and speaking of rain, on the day of the shooting of “Haina!” it was raining. We shot it at a temple, but the rain…
Yuma: No one thought it was gonna rain THAT much!
Chinen: Yeah, we moved under shelter… but it was a good dayto go out for people who have hay fever!
Yamada: People who have hay fever… well that means me! Oh, and I think that was the first time in a while for NYC to meet up properly.
Chinen: Yep. I mean, we met often, but that was the first time in a while when we met properly so we could talk a lot.

Yamada: I remember that day Yuma kept on talking about fishing. Like, “You can NEVER win against rock trout so be careful. They’re heavy!” (笑)He was talking so much, so I asked him out to fishing, from early next morning, and…

Yuma: I was like, “Sorry, can’t!” (笑)
Chinen: Rejected~!
Yuma: The thing I was surprised most about that day was that when I finished my make-up after Chinen-kun, he was already asleep. I’m pretty sure not much time passed…
Yamada: He’s really good at doing that. He even sleeps so that his hair and make-up doesn’t get ruined and puts his face flat on the table.
Yuma: Chinen is so pro at sleepoing!

Yamada teaches Yuma easy recipes!?
Yamada:
So Yuma moved to Tokyo and started a new life right? Living alone?
Yuma: Yeah. I always ask them 2 to come over to my house… but then we have the “Come over.” “Nah” “Come over.” “Nah” conversation like, 20 times already. (笑)
Chinen: Cuz like-, if we go to your house, it’s like, the goal. And after that we’ll lose interest for Yuma. (笑)

Yuma: Eh-No way!!!
Chinen: So we’re keeping it for later so we don’t lose interest for you.
Yuma: Oh, right-! I feel touched with your kindness.
Yamada: That’s a bit different, you know? (笑)
Yuma: I feel lonely cuz we don’t spend much time together in private life. So I thought maybe Yamada-kun could come to my house and teach me to cook! Like, the other day I made yaki-udon three days in a row. I thought I would test different flavours, and made sauce, vinegar, and ginger flavoured ones each day. I wanna make those kinds of food with the three of us!
Chinen: Right, then let’s do it next time while we’re calling each other.
Yuma: Eh-! So you’re not gonna come anyway? (笑)I mean, not like yaki-udon, but like one of those fancy recipes that Yamada-kun makes!
Chinen: How about you just chuck in olive oil?
Yamada: Yeah, olive oil’s good. Like, maybe pasta. It’s easy, and fancy. How about…. Yaki-udon pasta!
Yuma: So much noodles! How about you two? Did something change with you guys graduating high school?
Yamada: Nmmm~ not really. But, I do find that there’s some ease in daily life.
Chinen: Yep. There’s no more early 6am mornings and struggle to get out of bed. That’s happiness<3
Yamada: The worst that can happen is wake up at 9am. But we also sleep later. Like, at 1 or 2am.

Chinen: For me, my sleeping times haven’t really changed. I always sleep before 12am. And from there I sleep until about 9 or 10am. Oh, good days-<3
Yamada: Well that’s good!
Yuma: I have to sleep for at least 11hrs, so I sleep a lot too.
Yamada: Too much sleeping, Sakana-kun!
Chinen: Exactly! Sakada-kun!
Yuma: Wait, who the hell is Sakada-kun? (笑) I mean, like if I only slept for, say, 10 and a half hrs, I’d try to get back my 30mins and get sleepy in the day…
Yamada: Well Yuma… don’t don’t mind mind!!
Chinen: See you again next week!!!

Yuma: What the hell-!!!
